Facelift overview
What is a facelift?
A facelift is a surgical procedure that reduces visible signs of aging on the face and neck. No two faces are the same, so the means of rejuvenation will vary from patient to patient. However, facelift procedures aim to reverse the effects of loss of collagen and gravity on the skin, fat, and muscles of the face, helping to restore its youthful contours for a younger, natural, and firmer appearance.

Am I a good candidate for a facelift?
A facelift is a good option for anyone unhappy with or bothered by sagging skin, deep creases, or loss of facial contours as a result of aging. Individuals at a healthy weight and non-smokers are likely to experience the best results from plastic surgery procedures.
With a facelift, we can address:
Sagging skin
Deep facial wrinkles or folds
‘Jowls’ or sagging, loose skin below the jawline
Loose skin or excess fat on the neck
Loss of facial volume
Skin that appears aged or tired
State-of-the-art-care
Types of facelifts
A facelift should be individually designed to correct each patient’s signs of aging. Facelifts lift and tighten both skin and deeper structures of the face and neck to remove excess skin and tighten muscles, and reposition fat to reduce the appearance of significant sagging and deep wrinkles.
A mid-facelift specifically targets the midsection of the face, particularly the cheeks, providing lift to eliminate sagging.
Dr. Palmer believes that a deep plane facelift will usually provide the best results for most of his patients.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Palmer will offer recommendations that blend decades of expertise with your unique desires to perfectly harmonize your goals with proven surgical techniques, with the goal always being to deliver a natural-looking result.
Depending on your desired outcome, the pairing of blepharoplasty, or a brow or neck lift may be recommended.

Devoted care at every step
What to expect before and during your facelift procedure
During your private consultation with Dr. Palmer, he will finalize your treatment plan and discuss questions or concerns with you. This is also when medically necessary tests to confirm your eligibility for facelift surgery will take place, which may include bloodwork or an EKG and clearance from your medical doctor for people over age 60.
On the day of your operation, you will spend up to six hours in our accredited facility. Your surgery will be performed under IV Sedation, not general anesthesia. Using intravenous sedation instead of general anesthesia allows patients to experience a completely pain-free surgery while still controlling their breathing and body functions, making it both safer and easier to recover from compared to general anesthesia.
After the procedure, you will need to arrange for a trusted chaperone or family member to drive you home. Support during your first few days of recovery is also recommended.

Better results. Faster recovery
Facelift results and recovery process
Unlike at other plastic surgery clinics, the Palmer technique does not require post-operative drains. Incisions are also expertly hidden inside the ear, behind the ear, and inside the hairline, resulting in virtually invisible scars.
This precise technique allows for a quick and less painful recovery, with improvements being visible within a week of surgery.
After your facelift procedure, expect to:
Avoid strenuous activities for two to three weeks
Take one to two weeks off work
See initial results within one to two weeks
Notice final results after swelling subsides in four to six weeks moved, usually 4-6 days after surgery

Why choose Dr. Palmer for your face lift?
Dr. Palmer utilizes the P.A.L.M.E.R. Lift technique, which targets the neck and face, delivering results that look more natural when compared to other facelift techniques. He also uses intravenous sedation, not general anesthesia, meaning that patients feel no pain during surgery and aren’t required to use a breathing tube.
