Experienced Surgeon
Dr. James Stern grew up outside of Pittsburgh. After high school, he entered the prestigious six-year combined liberal arts medical education program at Boston University, earning a BA/MD degree with honors. After general surgical training, Dr. Stern studied plastic surgery in London, England, at Mount Vernon Hospital and Temple University Health Science Center in Philadelphia. He then completed a fellowship in cosmetic plastic surgery with the internationally renowned plastic surgeons Thomas Baker and Howard Gordon in Miami. Dr. Stern is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Stern has been in continuous private practice in Hollywood, FL, since finishing his training in 1995. He holds several leadership positions in the community and is currently the Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. He is a past president of the Broward County Society of Plastic Surgery, a fellow of the America College of Surgeons, a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and a long-standing member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

In the extraordinary event of an emergency, Dr. Stern will be personally involved. He has privileges at local hospitals in the area. All of our follow-up appointments are at no charge to the patient. If patients have any concerns and feel they need to be seen by Dr. Stern immediately, we ensure a same-day appointment.
Our staff is available to our patients 24/7, and we make it a priority to follow up with our patients after surgery to answer any questions or concerns they may have.
Pain-Reduction Techniques
With years of experience, Dr. Stern has developed his own pain techniques to minimize any discomfort during recovery. A majority of our patients report little to no pain during their recovery process.
